One day, while crossing the road, she met with an accident that resulted in the loss of her eyesight. After becoming blind, her situation gradually worsened. With no family member or support system to care for her, she was left to struggle on her own. Her disability made survival extremely difficult, pushing her into a state of vulnerability and neglect.
The Call for Help
Prabhuji Seema was noticed sitting alone on a public bridge opposite Bhayandar Railway Station. Visually impaired and dressed in torn, unclean clothes, she appeared helpless and was at constant risk. A concerned citizen contacted the Apna Ghar Ashram Mumbai rescue helpline and reported her condition. Understanding the seriousness of the situation and the immediate danger to her safety, the rescue team quickly verified the information and proceeded with intervention.
The Rescue & Arrival
The Apna Ghar rescue team carefully approached Prabhuji Seema at the bridge and ensured her safe transfer to Mahila Apna Ghar Ashram Mumbai. On arrival, she was received with warmth and reassurance to help her feel protected. She was assisted with bathing, cleaned and provided with fresh clothes. Nutritious meals and water were given to help her regain strength after prolonged hardship. Her details were recorded through the admission process, following which she was escorted to her ward. A full medical examination and necessary tests were conducted to assess her health condition and understand her immediate care needs.
Settling into Safety
Gradually, Prabhuji Seema began adapting to the rhythm of life inside the ashram. Sevasaathis supported her in everyday activities, including eating, maintaining hygiene, taking medicines and resting on time. The predictable routine and compassionate presence around her created a sense of security. As recommended by eye specialists, required examinations were completed. Although her eyesight could not be restored, regular care and emotional support helped her feel calmer and more accepting of her circumstances.
